I have heard that a connection at Wellsboro is about 4 years away.CSX_CO wrote:Ya know, its unfortunate they don't have better connections onto/off the CN at Wellsboro. The 'hot' vans could come out of Bedford on their normal routing, get on the GTW at Blue Island Jct and back off at Wellsboro. Something happens on the CN between Wellsboro and Blue Island, trains get on the B&O at Wellsboro, and back on the J at E. Re: Q149 on the ground
No anything. I was not on the train, that was the train I was supposed to have. There are no pilots or anything. The Buffalo crew pulled up to Bera, the NS crew got on, and took it over the NS. The Buffalo crew either deadheaded the rest of the way to Willard, or deadheaded back home. The NS crew's will take it to East Curtice, and a CSX crew will meet them there, the NS crew will get off, and the CSX crew will finish taking it to Bedford Park. How does that work, CSX crew with a pilot?

"Farmer" is reporting on TO that:

Sounds like my odds of seeing a re-route this evening (assuming these clouds move out) are going to be pretty slim as I doubt they'll do much/any more than what's already out & running.Farmer wrote:"Sounds like most of the traffic is being held. Will be headlight to tailight tonight. Should be open both tracks by mid afternoon without both x overs at Suman."

Re: Q149 on the ground
I would not bet on that. It might happen, but you are not going to get 30 to 50 cars out of the way that fast and have both tracks open, that fast. Looking in our line up a few hours ago, all trains are still being held, in Chicago. In fact the first thing they show running is Q160 at 2000, maybe Q114 around 1930. Nothing else is even scheluled, or shown in the lineup.

Re: Q149 on the ground
I'm sure Hulcher already has the mess shoved to the side, and the panel track is on its way or being installed already. Cars are written off, loads are written off, and they get back to running trains. They had the X-overs at Suman OOS the last time they had a derailment there. I think they were out for a good month or so. I came back off of leave on 2004, and they had only just recently gotten them back in service when I had returned from a coal train derailment.sd70accsxt700 wrote:I would not bet on that. Re: Q149 on the ground
Dang, definitely not going too well. My thoughts go out to the family of that worker.
Looks like I won't be getting my morning eastbound shots on CSX tomorrow unless they can get them moving sometime in the early morning. Either way, I'll probably head up to the NS.

Re: Q149 on the ground
I saw a train that looked suspiciously like Q136 on the Chicago Line this morning, too.

Re: Q149 on the ground
AS reported at 11:30 am one direction opened about 8:00 am. Westbound parade started eastbound were still being held.
Re: Q149 on the ground
Due to the derailment I got a chance to talk with CSX crews in Berea, OH last night. They are detouring trains onto NS in Berea. Last night I caught 4 csx trains transferring between the NS Toledo East and CSX mainlines. Each train had delays getting onto and off of the NS.
