NS Derailment in Waterloo?

Unread post by CG Tower »

I know there was a tie up there earlier because of an individual with some mental health issues, but it sounded like I just heard NS Toledo West say that he has a train derailed in Waterloo, Indiana with both tracks blocked. Can anyone confirm?

Reception is darn hot this evening, as I normally do not hear Toledo West...

Will this potentially create heavy traffic on Chicago line once its back open or will they have rerouted prior to that. Wanna go to Wauseon and click a few shots.

Sounds like they have a bunch of trains tied down/ outlawed due to the shut down of the line earlier in the day. Anyway there is always heavy traffic on the Chicago line;)

ATCS shows an eastbound heading into the siding at LaPorte, an eastbound heading into the siding at South Bend, and an eastbound in Dunlap siding just east of Elkhart (and one lined in behind him from the yard). There also appears to be two trains sitting on main 1 between CP 426 and CP 423 in Elkhart.

Yes most reoutes I understand are using the Butler Connection down to Fort Wayne or headed through either CSX or Ns through Fostoria. We may see 331 or 332 38E or 39E on the Michigan line but I wouldnt bet on it. MAybe 20N? or anything else that would originate/terminate in Elkhart to Detroit area.
