Anyone want to explain this? found in another post
Lots of replacement cross overs in place. NS track equipment was sitting in the sidings at Porter. No eveidence of them moving the CSX line yet.
what does that mean "moving the CSX line?"

There was talk of CSX putting in crossovers and or a diamond, so they could connect the GR sub to the Porter branch thus avoiding NS tracks.

NS has been replacing switches all along the Chicago line. I suspect that's what your seeing is just normal replacements.

I know this is an old post, but I didn't see it before
Anyway, NS also resignalled the junction. New cantilevers on the mainline and Porter Branch (the latter of which replaced a classic NYC era bracket mast), and new signals on the Amtrak line (looked to be a slow speed signal with 3 heads) and CSX (medium speed, with only 2 heads)
