Train derailment by Tornado - Mount Vernon, Indiana

Unread post by David Collins »

My girlfriend is currently in Mount Vernon, Indiana with her mom and nearly got hit by an at least 1/2 mile wide tornado. She got lucky and got missed by like a mile, but this Evansville Western train wasn’t as lucky :(. Picture taken off of Facebook.

I wonder if this was a loaded or empty train. My guess is empty, but the winds of a large tornado could easily dump loaded cars like this as well.

It was loaded. It also tipped the engines over too.
