It's a giant mess, I happened upon it by chance today while driving US-12. The lead cab is a bit smashed on the CSX locomotive. It looks like the Q010 was on the northerly main while the CSS coal train was on the siding, south of the southerly main. The engines are way the heck off the track (in both directions) and there are trailers 40' in the air. Worst wreck I've ever seen.

I hiked in through the woods and they shooed me off (despite being 50' off ROW) so I left - no sense testing frazzled nerves...

I don't think they ever made it. Supposedly they're at New Buffalo, but I don't know if they're in the siding, in the yard, or if they've moved since then. I know they weren't in the siding at Gross yesterday afternoon, as I was there and checked...it was empty.

I'm guessing it was already past the point of no return. I'd assume this will probably run via the IHB if it makes it that far. Q389-08 is the one Dok said was planned to go via GR.

Now showing a R50008 out of Toledo in the wee hours for Clearing via GRP and a Q39308 out of Willard towards Toledo and sometime tomorrow AM to GRP. Two crews at the no-tell motel in Chicago rested for midnight from GRP for I must assume something coming to GRP from there but nothing showing that I can find in the csx mojo wire. Now that a certain YM retired we can't look at the good stuff anymore. Not that we would though mind you cause thats against csx policy...darn you if you know whats going on!

Sounds like we'll hear some old familar voices on the radio tomorrow....

Q010 was on the track next to the siding on the south. No one was on the north track.

Wow, that's a pretty big wreck! I knew that it was big and blocking the mains, but I didn't know that there were cars stacked in a pile like that.

I was in Albion Indiana Monday evening and seen a w/b stack around 4 pm.

On doble track, it's not hard to foul both mains. You only need like 2 feet to the inside of the mains to make the other track impassible...hard to prevent in mainline wercks where stuff love to jackknife

He didn't say anything about not knowing it was fouling both mains, he was talking about the pile-up.
