Stanley Tower and "Island"

Unread post by CSX_CO »

It hasn't been mentioned, but Stanley Tower in Toledo no longer controls any switches or signals. The operator still has a job, but its telling the RL dispatcher what switches and signals to line. I'd wager that before the end of the month, the lights will go out in Stanley all together. Hopefully the tower can be 'saved', and it would make an interesting 'railfan park' for a historical society. Its definately a big tower.

New signals were cut in last week around the tower, with additional work to be completed in the coming weeks. Another sentinel from a dying era falls.
