A portion of the train is on fire. Several fire departments and the local hazardous materials management team have responded to the blaze.

Portions of northbound State Route 44 and eastbound State Route 2 have been closed, authorities said.

Evacuations have started of the nearby Heisley Park residential area that is west of Route 44, south of Route 2 and north of Jackson Street.

Reports from the scene indicate flames are visible a half-mile away, and that the air is filled with thick smoke.
