Bay Shore Power Plant abandon spur

Does anyone know and why this spur (https://www.google.com/maps/@41.6907099 ... 6656?hl=en) was abandon? Kind of seems odd.

I don't know why or when the referenced spur into Bay Shore ceased. I do know that only unit 1 at Bay Shore is still in use. Units 2, 3, and 4 were taken off line in 2012. FirstEnergy has committed to either shut down unit 1, thus idling the entire plant, or selling it to another operator, by Fall, 2020.

If you look at the aerial view, the line looks to have extended to one of the sediment/silt dumping sites on the shorefront that material from dredging the Maumee River shipping channel were deposited at. If the intent was to take the dredged material via rail somewhere or what I don't know.
