ASAP- What are the scanner frequencies for Fostoria?

Unread post by Tier4GEVO »

Going to Fostoria, totally forgot about my scanner. I know the B&O uses 160.230, what about the C&O and NS Fort Wayne Line? Thanks.

Sounds like an Emergency. You should use 121.50 MHZ . If there isn't much there go to 243.0 MHZ. If you want to hear anything on those channels us AM mode.

Go to this link, plug in these channels to your scanner, and you'll be all set to go in Fostoria: http://www.railroadfan.com/phpbb/viewto ... 1033#p8079

Thanks. My scanner would surely struggle with all those due to its 3 channel per second scanning speed.

My scanner is fast enough where I have all the railroad channels on all the time. Only takes a second to do nearly 100 of them.

But yeah...if it'd take 30 seconds to loop them all...be choosy!

Listening In

Radio freqs for CSX are: 160.230, 161.520, 160.320. NS's main frequency is 161.250.

CSX has a detector 5 miles east at Bascom (MP 31.1). NS has two: 6 miles east at Ilers (MP 273.9)(275.4 is listed on the Google reference below), and 5 miles west at Arcadia (MP 285.5).

Here is a "Google Guide" prepared by a railfan for people who want to listen in but are unfamiliar with the radio callouts:

Depending on atmospheric conditions there are a few more detectors as well that can be heard from time to time. I can't remember the MP but there is one on the C&O down in Springville and one on the B&O around Deshler I think. Also if your really lucky there is one near Attica as well.

Queen has a song that relates to this generation: "I want it all, and I want it now. "

Seems like the majority of the plates in the Fostoria parking lot this weekend were from Michigan.

Haha, what does that tell ya about Michigan hotspots? Fostoria, Deshler, and Vickers are popular spots for us local Detroit area people. People out west seem to enjoy Porter Junction

Literally anything else>Downtown Fostoria
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

I like Porter as much as the next guy but eventually it gets old. I like to go a little further west, to CP 488 and the Ogden Dunes station. Most of the same traffic plus the South Shore.
