What is the typical train count through Bryan? And what are peak times?

I'd say 70-80 trains a day. With spring time brings track maintenance and that seems to mess with the flow of traffic at times. mornings seem to bring plenty of traffic.

Hope this helps.

70 a day.
Note - these are very generalized answers. Also, NS isn't running as much as usual due to the widespread furloughs and slouch many RRs are in.

Crack of dawn until 9am
Very busy

9am to 12pm
Busy

12pm to 5pm
Steady. No big gaps but not insane either.

5pm - 7pm
Slow

7pm onward
Very Busy

I agree. I would say average 3/hour per day.

I've pulled many 12 hour Railstreams in Berea, and for the first time ever, CSX seems to be running more than NS. I am getting 26 average on NS right now per 12 hours. 52. Meh.... CSX I'm averaging 33 which is a noticeable increase.

I wouldn't say that.... CSX gets 55-65 trains a day through Berea Ohio NS gets about 85-95 trains a day. And trust me the Chicago line west of Elkhart IN gets about 100-110 trains a day thats including the 8 Canadian Pacific the 4 Amtrak trains. Also For some reason Canadian National has about 5-8 trains a day. I dont get why CN is running trains on Norfolk Southern. When I stayed at rileys Railhouse back in 2015 I was railfanning in Chesterton for about 3 days I saw about 5 CN trains. I even did not go railfanning at night. So if you want NS Chicago line action go west of Elkhart. I really recommend Porter Junction Indiana because you get 8 Amtrak trains and 1 daily NS local on the Michigan line. 2 coal trains that go up on the CSX Grand Rapids sub 2 more Amtrak trains on the Grand Rapids sub and 2 more CSX trains Q326 and Q327. And you get all of the NS Chicago line traffic. so really you have 110-115 going through Porter Junction

At Berea I think you probably meant NS gets 70-75/day and CSX gets 50-55.

Saturday, from 6am to 6pm (12 hours), 27 NS came through, and 29 CSX came through.
Sunday, from 6pm to 9pm, 4 NS came through, and 9 CSX came through.

CSX is really picking up traffic, many people out on the Lake Shore seem to agree.

Oh I'm not disputing your observations. I highly recommend railfanning from 8pm-8am however. I had 36 on NS from 11pm-7am last time I did. Great stuff!

Wait, does this mean you watched a webcam for 12 hours?

Yep, as I'm trying to determine which RR is busier. Also, I view ATCS and listen to scanner, so then I can multitask during a lull :P

How on Earth can you stand trains for over 12 hours?! I get bored with them within 3 or 4 hours!
