Best Spot for Videography in Fostoria?

Unread post by Tier4GEVO »

Hi all, I am not very fond of Fostoria's rail park due to the black gates, and bad viewpoints along the line. Is Poplar Street any better, if I lug the tripod from CSX to NS for 100 feet? Or is the old Amtrak station the best?

Sounds like when you were at the park and able to determine the black gates didn't give you a good view, surely you saw the viewing angle as you drove into the park from Poplar St, so why ask? Amtrak depot was a block away as well, easy to walk to from the park.
If you are basing the dislike of the park from some photos you've seen online, just go to the park, look around, and head east/west/north/south of town a couple miles and just check out some other angles.. plenty to chose from. Move around instead of staying in one spot all day for video.

Go explore it for yourself. Have the people in this hobby lost all sense of adventure?

Yes. They need you to tell them to go there.

Half the fun of railfanning is getting good and lost trying to find a better spot. Even better when you wind up somewhere that a man with a shotgun chases you out..
