Railfan Friendly Spot to Park to Watch CSX in Defiance?

Unread post by Tier4GEVO »

Visiting cousins in Defiance, and they live about 3 miles from the CSX Chicago Line. I have only been over here twice before, can any local experts advise a good spot? It will need to be car-friendly as I cannot walk 3 miles or more during the blistering November. Needs to be close to US-24.

There is a parking lot across from Dos Amigos Mexican restaurant, which on Harrison Street is very close to the CSX/ND&W diamond. There is a good view of both lines from this parking lot if you park in the row closest to the street.

Larry Grove Park on south side of tracks off Clinton Street is a public park and no one will bother you there. Although the railroad is up higher than the park.
