SPEG Removal and Van Wert County

Since I want to be on the record of having accurate information...I did some more research on the demise of the SPEG westward from Elgin.

As we know, the line was removed and scrapped. The results of that scrapping was that 90% of the money went back to the Ohio Rail Development Commission as a part of the original financing agreement with the SPEG. 10% back to the county. What the county did with this is beyond my privy...however, my guess, based on conversations with Van Wert County, is that some of that money was used for other rail projects.
