NS vs CSX Chicago Lines - Who gets more intermodals?

Unread post by Tier4GEVO »

Here in South bend, I get a 24M, 24Z sometimes, 20E, 20K, 205, 206, 21G, 21M, 21Z, 22K, 25V, 25Z, and thats about it. On the CSX, I know they get Q010 the hotshot, Q008, Q009, Q007, Q002, Q004, Q163, L163, and others. Who has more in 24 hours?

I promise you that there are more than a dozen intermodals on the NS Chicago line each day.

Pretty much this. I can't believe I'm doing this, but these are the ones I've seen recently and yes I know I'm missing a few:

West: #205, 21E, 21G, 21J, 21M, 21Q, 21R (sometimes), 21T, 21V, 21W (new?), 21Z, 23K, 23M, 23W, 25G/25M (don't think they run the same days), 25Z

East: #206, 20A, 20E, 20G, 20K, 20Q, 20R, 20T, 20V, 20W, 22K, 22W, 24M, 24Z, #294, 26T

Symbols change fast so some could have changed and I could have missed some. Point is that there are a ton (30+).

This is from Berea to Sandusky. Obviously there are vans that come off the Sandusky Line at Sandusky or the Bellevue District at Oak Harbor.

NS intermodals seem to be considerably longer vs. the CSX trains, NS pulls some monsters !
