Re: Michigan Southern Defiance Operations: The Beginning

I don't mind reporting things but absolutely hate being goaded into things with incessant "What happened todays?"

NS 5555 tooks some cars west to Woodburn and then began bring 5 new Haz Mat cars to Paulding. They moved number 7 to the next crossing and have a Blue flag behind it, there is still one tank car derailed near the bridge west of Cecil.

Meanwhile in Defiance they fired up the MAW power and were using number 5 to switch out Manville. Oh and they are using 3 step protection and all manner of other professional railroader stuff and the official name is now Napoleon, Defiance, and Western.

Oh and I applied with them.

So, the Napoleon, Defiance & Western? That's actually pretty catchy! I'll call myself a fan. Much more fitting than "Michigan Southern," or even Maumee & Western for that matter.

Nice catch on the ex-NW High Hood and the former High Hood SD40-2. Geep 38AC's are a rarity these days. I enjoy your pictures and videos Scott.

So got this stuff today, just eating up NS power on the 5th district and now even the Cincinnati Northern.

Working out and Lafarge and heading back to Cecil.

Number 7 is purely nothing but an impediment at this point and has to be shoved all around the yard out at the Quarry.

I find it humorously applicable that the wheels are shown on the track conisdering the repuation of MAw is frequent derailments

Actually, it's quite clever, even for one who many not get the joke. And, it's in the right color scheme for Pioneer! Toss it to management, who knows!

Send it to management? Wow, guess I could! Thanks all...it was for fun over coffee...let me tweak around with it.

No, I had no intent of sending this on to the powers at be. I was simply playing around in Photoshop and threw this together. Do we have a contact for Pioneer? Whats the harm eh?

I would call, (309) 697-1400, tell the receptionist why you are calling and ask if they can help you talk to the right person.

Or go to their website, http://pioneer-railcorp.com/, Contact Us, Corporate Email Directory, and try either the president or someone in marketing (all contacts are clearly listed).

The reality is that I am sure Pioneer has people on staff to handle this. I do not know their corporate strategy on marketing. I'm just an economic development/ workforce development guy that likes trains...

We'll see...
