Back in the Early Days of the I&O, Navistar's Stamping Plant had a siding into the stamping plant but did not receive anything when I worked there. Also had a steam horn I would hear every morning while waiting on the school bus

According to a source in Marion Ohio, he tells me that 200 boxcars of mexican beer have showed up in Marion for the opening of a new beer distribution facility that has located in industrial depot park in a warehouse that used to house a former Conagra Popcorn plant. The boxcars have started coming up the CSX Indy Sub from a UP connection near St Louis in which the traffic originated at a Constellation Brewery Plant near Nava Coahuila Mexico located 50 miles from the international border near Laredo Texas. This is an infinite traffic source and the plant in Mexico is expanding again later this year for their popular Corona line. Also autoracks full of Kias have also been showing up to the industrial park.

A hot briquette iron plant is coming to the Port Authority of Toledo waterfront. NS will most likely serve the plant.

Campbell's has started construction of a new midwest distribution facility in Findlay that will utilize CSX's North Baltimore intermodal facility to ship product to the West Coast.

Does Campbell's still get anything inbound. I know the old DT&I tracks to the plant are long gone, but I heard the other railroad into town N,D&W used to bring cars to warehouses where they were trucked to the plant. Does this still happen, or is everything going by truck and IM from a major IM facility now?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I saw CSX built a new intermodal facility in Pittsburgh. Does this mean there will be increased traffic on the New Castle Sub.?

Elyria and Lorain municipalities have both been reporting CSX track-work and grade-crossing work on the CL&W subdivision (former B&O, Cleveland, Lorain, & Wheeling RR). Is there still business up that far north for CSX? Or some plan to expand or interchange?

Time for a bump i read on Facebook that Chrysler may add another shift and several hundred jobs to the Jeep assembly plant in Toledo, Maybe nice new business for the Ann Arbor RR.

Talk of a midsize Ram pickup counterpart to the Jeep pickup that's going in there. Given that the GM mid size trucks (Canyon/Colorado) are selling very well and Ford set to launch a US version of the Ranger (that's currently made in several other countries around the world), FCA is looking to get back in on that market too. On the other hand, the head of the UAW local that represents the plant says there's "no way" that the plant can build both a Jeep and Ram pickup on the same line without a separate body build area - and the jobs that go with. It could be posturing on his part, or he may have a point - but if the vehicle does end up in Toledo (there is also talk of a uni-body based truck that would be built in Mexico to fill that slot in the line up), it should be a good add for outbound finished vehicles.

I've read that the plant ships up to 90 auto racks a day.

Speaking of steel. Leipsic is in the top 10 for electric steel mill such as the one at St. Joe Indiana.

NS and CSX serve the Port of Ashtabula, but this just got interesting. A nodular briquette iron ore plant is coming to Ashtabula. Ore Pellets will be brought in by boat, outbound shipments and who takes them is anyones guess.
