Newest Ohio Railroad
I have been looking to go and try to find this unit, after about six months of people guessing. A couple of months ago a reported brown Frog Eye GP was seen heading to the Docks. Well here is Toledo's newest railroad. The Port of Toledo Railroad. Have not 100% confirmed the true identy, but 80% believe it to be the following, (and hence the report of a brown loco).
ex-OHCR 703, exx-SPCX 703, ne-MDSR 1003, nee-IC 8142, neee-IC 9142.
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/LocoPi ... ?id=135308
Photo is a little bad on the left side due to trying to shoot through a fence. It is in a not to public area. Dont know if they head over to "The Docks" to interchange or if CSX still comes over to "The Port" to interchange. For those who cant read it, it says CM&P Consultants on the side of the cab. It also havs the Toledo Lucas County Port Authority logo on it and also has the Midwest Terminals of Toledo logo on it, and that is the company I had tolked about here, farther down this topic. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=17915&hilit=+Front
Also I think MSchwiebert talked about it in another thread, by its name Midwest Terminals of Toledo. Upon further search about CM&P Consultanst turned up this. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/michael-mohr/7/334/882
This says to me when whatever gets built along Front St. gets done we could see another loco. But here it is.

Nice! I just happened to see that last night for the first time. My through the fence shot was even crappier being backlit, etc. It's a sharp paint scheme and it's a shame it'll probably be next to impossible to get a "good" shot of it. Thanks for posting.

Re: Newest Ohio Railroad
What sorts of commodities do they handle there? Is it a big operation with several shifts per day?
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

This is how the port authority bills it:AARR wrote:What sorts of commodities do they handle there? Is it a big operation with several shifts per day?

Note that most of what they list is NOT served by this new RR (most served by CSX, NS or both).
The actual port docks area where this thing lives is generally bulk commodity and general cargo docks where they bring in anything from large stuff like the North Baltimore cranes to other break bulk cargo. For a while they were unloading pipe and putting it on flat cars.

Edit: Here's a Blade article on the port from when they brought in the new cranes:

Re: Newest Ohio Railroad
As long as we're listing... don't know why this one isn't on the list since it's right there:

CSX rail served - I even have pictures of 'em switching it off the Terminal.

Re: Newest Ohio Railroad
I love it, I used to go by Westway Terminals, on the way to Detroit. Now I go by Westway Terminals on the way to Chicago. They are in Riverdals, right where CSX goes under the CN.
Mike maybe they are not considered part of the port.

Re: Newest Ohio Railroad
I finally got a relatively good shot of the "Port of Toledo Railroad" unit up at the Docks recently:
