Ann Arbor & Michigan Northern (AAMN)

Unread post by AARR »

The Ann Arbor & Michigan Northern (AAMN) is a Class 2 rail carrier formed in 2005 with the purchase of the Tuscola & Saginaw Bay Railway (TSBY). The railroad operates on the following lines:
• Former Ann Arbor trackage from Osmer) north of Ann Arbor) to Yuma (MP 50.5-249.5)
• Former PRR trackage from Cadillac to Petoskey (332.5-425.0)
• Former PRR trackage from Walton Jct. (north of Cadillac) to Traverse City (0-25.0)
• Ex PM branches to Grawn and Williamsburg (136.5-159.5)
• Former NYC trackage from Owosso to Chesaning (63.5-82.0)
• Former GTW trackage from Ashley to Middleton (0-12.5)
• A small portion of the abandoned CSX (C&O) Ludington Subdivision in Clare, Michigan, (49.5-51.0)
AAMN’s total mileage, including trackage rights on CN Pit Jct. to Durand (65.5-67.0) and HESR Durand to Sand Jct. (Owosso) (67.0-76.5) is 372 miles.

AAMN hosts the Steam Railroading Institute.

AAMN has a preferred interchange partnership with Watco’s Ann Arbor Railroad which allows commodities using both railroads to be priced as a single entity.

AAMN interchanges with:
• CN and HESR at Durand.
• MMRR at Alma.
• CSX at Ann Pere (Howell).
• AA at Osmer (Ann Arbor).
