Are the Cumberland shops still building steam locomotives? Because we may have a contract for some steamers that needs to be fulfilled.

Would the Cumberland Shops happen to have any spare SD45T-2 frames? Or any SD45T-2 frames for sale? The PLW is using them to build the SD45-3's coming from them.

Looking into Gas Turbine power, M&N has secured the plans for 4500 and 8500hp Gas Turbines, similar to the GE turbines for the Union Pacific. The major difference is grade of fuel and smaller turbines.

4 ex-NW Hi-hood SD45's have been pulled from deadline for re building. Re-designated SD46, they will have 12-710 instead of the 20-645 and Dash-2 electrical components.

3 SD50, 3 SD70, 2 GP50, and 6 C40-8 have been purchased from Norfolk Southern, they will run with a patch job until shop space becomes available

15 ES44AC-H are being built over the next few months

a wrecked Ex-CP AC44 will be re-built with a standard cab off a C40-8

the new Gas turbine has reached a full scale mock-up. it will be powered by a single GE LM2500 gas turbine engine, the same kind used in modern warships, and will generate almost 25,000hp. the unit will also have a GEVo-12 for auxiliary power. It will be set up in a 3-unit set, like the 8500hp GTELs UP had, the A-unit will have the cab and auxiliary engine and brake equipment, the B-unit with house the turbine and generator, and the C-unit will be a large tender. MNTX #1000 will be the Cumberland shops highest priorty for the time being and should be conducting running tests by the end of the month. The A-unit will be built on frames similar to the AC44, the B-unit will use the frame from a retired DDA40X and the tender is from a Big Boy on the storage track. the turbine will burn Jet B fuel, and refueling spots will be built at the major terminals.
