The Carolina Southern was founded in 1994, operating two older CSX Branch lines North of Charlotte, NC, and one into Conway, South Carolina. The Carolina Southern Railroad operates about 95 miles of track, and they primarily moves the following commodities:
Lumber/Wood Products
Rolled Paper
Wallboard
Coal
Aggregates
Stone
Bricks & Masonry
Wheat, Grain
Processed Foods
Agricultural Chemicals & Materials
Fertilizer

The Carolina Southern currently has two locomotives, an EX Norfolk Southern High Hood SD40-2, and an EX Canadian National SD60. The rolling stock comes from CSX and NS.

Carolina Southern has reached agreements with NS and CSX for trackage rights.

The NS Rights give Carolina Southern into Ashville, Burlington, and everything between.

The CSX Rights give Carolina Souhen to Abbeville, Florence, Bennttsville, and everything between.

If there are no objections or line conflicts before tomorrow at 18:00 EDT, you're in.

I don't think there are any conflicts. Not much in that neck of the woods on this board. The HPR in the SE, then PC, AW, MNTC and maybe another? over there, but I think mostly north of the Carolinas.

PC doesn't go east of Pittsburgh, PA nor south of Louisville, KY so definitely no conflicts with me.

An SD40-2 has been purchased from the Union Pacific after siting in storage for 15 years. We tested it out, and it runs fine. The cab is clean, everything works properly, and since we are low of funds now, we will not be repainting it for a while.

Depends. What do you have?

The Carolina Southern now owns track into Greensboro, NC, Boone, NC, and Raleigh, NC, which was NS.
