Your 5 GP35E's were delivered to the BRC and are at Clearing yard right now, PC numbers 4400-4404. You have 5 GP38E's coming to Clearing yard later tonight, 4462-4468, on the transfer run to the BRC from PC's 55th Street yard.

5 ex-PC GP38Es were delivered to the Monon from the BRC this morning. 2 more GP38Es and 11 GP40Es are in PCs 55th street yard awaiting a pick up from the BRC transfer, to us. In other loco news, the Monon purchased an AC60CW from the Ann Arbor Railroad, and is expected to arrive late tomorrow from the MQT. This will be the first higher HP unit purchase since the C40-8Ws, and will be given the number "4000".

The Lake Michigan Sub has reached Alida, IN; the crossing of the CSX line from Garrett to Chicago. CSX has prepared for the installation of the diamonds by putting up new signals on their side. The diamond will be installed tomorrow. The crews are working to get a big chunk of diamond installations done this week, due to the low traffic on East-West lines from Hurricane Sandy.

Track crews have reached the NS Chicago Line at Otis, IN today. Diamond set to be installed tomorrow. CIL 1053 (RS2) is in charge of the work train that's been following the crews up the line. Currently, the train, known as W-MMC (Monon-Michigan City) is dumping ballast between Alida and Otis. After installing the diamond at Otis, the crews will work northward to I-94, just south of the MQT tracks. A switch will be installed for a siding at I-94...

The line to Indianapolis has been completed, with the yard in Indy being finished today.

CL-1 has CIL 4000 on the point. It was prepped and put into service this morning. It retains its Ann Arbor lettering and orange paint. As a joke, crews at the Monon shops in Hammond took a Sharpie marker and wrote "The Big Orange" under the number...

Trains on the Monon as of 3:30pm...
CL-1 at Lafayette; CIL 4000 (AC60CW), CIL 3369 (C40-8W)
LC-2 at Rensselaer; CIL 3329 (SD40-2), CIL 3315 (SD40-2), CIL 3319 (SD40-2)
CI-1 at Cedar Lake; CIL 3368 (C40-8W), CIL 3307 (SD40-2), CIL 1064 (SW1500)
IL-1 at Delphi; CIL 2049 (SD38-2), CIL 3333 (SD45)
LI-2 at Borden; CIL 3333 (SD45), CIL 3332 (SD45)
BL-1 at Hitchcock; CP 6003 (SD40-2), SOO 6059 (SD60M)

666 at New Albany; ICE 6411 (SD40-2), CITX 3026 (BN paint, SD40-2), CP 9656 (Gold Beaver, AC44CW)

Crews have installed the diamond over the NS at Otis, IN today. Track has been laid from there to just north of the I-94 overpass south of Michigan City. There, a switch and signals were installed for a siding. This siding will mainly hold coal trains destined for West Olive on the MQT. Crews are expected to reach the MQT/TSCR joint triple track early next week, where diamonds will be installed and a connection built. Installation set for Nov. 6

Our 5 HLCX lease GPs arrived early this morning on a transfer from Union Pacific. They are being checked over in the shops at Hammond. 10 GP35s from MQTX will also arrive sometime this weekend.

Could you add two sidings onto the one you're already building (creating a small yard) for Interchange? Make them at least 4,000ft. :)

That sounds good! MCM-1 would collect traffic. GM powertrain in Bedford wants a better route for its parts to Detroit instead of to Chicago and over, so that'll work well.

Shop crews fired them up no problem. Changed 16 pistons between the 10 units, replaced the oil, filled the sand and lube reserves, tuned 'er up, and hauled 'em to Chicago. 8)

Amtrak trains have resumed running on the Monon. The Cardinal and the Hoosier State both use the line from Chicago to Indianapolis, instead of going down to Crawfordsville and onto the NS.

Lease units are slowly getting pressed into service on the Monon. Along with starting to be used on jobs in the Chicago area, they are slowly trickling their way onto the Main line.

Trains on the Monon as of 12pm.
AMT-04 (NB Hoosier State) stopping at Frankfort; AMTK 123 (P42DC)
I-CL1 at Greencastle; CIL 3348 (C40-8W), CIL 3342 (SD45), CIL 3351 (C40-8W)
I-LC1 at New Albany; CIL 3360 (C40-8W), CIL 4000 (AC60CW), CIL 3349 (C40-8W)
A-LC2 at Salem; CIL 3302 (SD40-2), CIL 3301 (SD40-2)
A-CL1 at Bloomington; CIL 3367 (C40-8W)
CL-1 at Shelby; CIL 3340 (SD45), CIL 3369 (C40-8W), CIL 2019 (GP40E), HLCX 3811 (GP38-2), MQTX 301 (GP35)
