BNSF locomotive auction

Unread post by conrailman75 »

BNSF is auctioning off a bunch of surplus GP30u and GP35u that are stored in Barstow, CA and Topeka, KS. They are also getting rid of the three Los Angeles Junction(LAJ) Ry CF7's and some other stuff. Since we are the paper railroad syndicate, I figured our CEO's would appreciate a heads up on what they are selling off. Link is found below:

http://auctions.bnsf.com/cgi-bin/auctio ... bid?a=2810

My Penn Central is going to bid on the 2 GP15-1's and all the SD9's for sure. The only other things on that list that we may have an interest in is the two SD39's and the 3 CF7's, otherwise its fair game for everything else :)

TSCR is showing an interest in the GP35U's a Topeka, KS, the GP35U's in Barstow are open for anyone. Of course we are bidding so someone else can bid too.

The DR&EC is also interested in some GP35u's. However bidding doesn't start until July 9th.

We're only bidding on the ones in Topeka. But we'll just go lease some from DTCX if this gets out of hand...

There's a total of 21 GP35u's in Barstow. The DR&EC will only be bidding on about 7 or 8 of then once the bidding starts.

The BNSF bidding on these locomotives is now open, the clock says the auction ends in 23 hours :)

Penn Central has bid on the following:
LAJ CF7 2568
LAJ CF7 2563
LAJ CF7 2612

BNSF GP15-1 1376
BNSF GP15-1 1481

BNSF SD9 1717
BNSF SD9 1719
BNSF SD9 1724
BNSF SD9 1728
BNSF SD9 1919
BNSF SD9 1921

The SD9's and GP15-1's are in Topeka, KS and the CF7's are in Barstow, CA. To handle this here on our forum, you do not have to reveal your bid unless someone else tries to acquire what you're bidding on. If possible, list the unit numbers like I did of the engines you are bidding on as well. The auction ends at 5pm EDT time tomorrow, so if your bid is the highest or you bid on something and no one else outbids you at that time, you "win" those locomotives from the auction. Good luck gentlemen and let the bidding begin

It looks like the SAMM and AW are both bidding on these engines. I've got an idea on how to resolve this fairly if you are willing. If someone else would be willing to participate by accepting PM's from each of us stating what we would pay they could relay to us which one had the higher bid.

Congratulations, you have "won" all 8 locomotives that you bid on, DR&EC. Please make arrangements with BNSF to have them delivered to the destination of your choice where you can pick them up. Thanks again for doing business with BNSF auctions.

SAMM, please submit your bid to me as a PM or post it on here as I already have TC's bid on these same locomotives so that I can determine who won these locomotives.
