GP's are easier on track, have less traction motors, have better visibility in reverse than those things with flared radiators, and ride pretty darn well. Until the larger AC units with radial trucks are being sold off, the majority of shortlines won't be bringing in six-axles. Plus, 4,400 horsepower is a little bit overkill for most shortline operations. Obviously operations like Iowa Pacific's San Luis and Rio Grande would be an exception to this.
Most shortlines are best served by GP38-2s, GP40-2's, SW1500s, or MP15s.

Freshly "rebuilt" P40 is painted in an advertisement for Coca-Cola.. Too bad Amtrak can't or does not take advantage of the 300+ rolling billboards they own that lose money every day.

Been rained out of work for a couple days, so I decided to do a paint scheme of what I thought would look good on a GEVO or ACe. I did CB&Q paint on a GEVO, I liked the red and gray combo for this modern unit.

Just finished a mostly updated F40PH in the via scheme.. I find this a very attractive paint scheme so I did it as a drawing.. took some work but its pretty nice
Didn't move the side door or mess with the gas tank and roof, but I did add the enclosed rear end as per the rebuilds.
