Today my shops finished up the newest edition to my fleet, it is an ex Union Pacific SD40-2 that has been refitted with a plow in place of the cab. We are going to test the unit between Toledo and Ann Arbor tommorow. It is numbered X1001 and is the first on its kind, all welded steel with modern equpitment in the cab. It has flanges that can extend off of the body, and also a snow shield for entering the cab mostly to make sure that the door does not get cloged with snow. It is most likely that we will pair the unit with an SD70ACe or SD75M when we need to plow. We built the unit on an SD40-2 so we can move it without an assist or if necessary use it solo to plow our rails.

If this unit works well we might build a second and run them back to back

The SD40-2WX ran fine up to Ann Arbor, then back to Toledo. Got some looks at grade crossings  the crew had commented that it rode smother then expected, but some additional weight towards the rear of the unit might be a good idea. We are looking into ways of adding weight to the unit.

Elongate the unit and add weight in the rear? Just an idea.
I'm just here to put in time claims and complain

Add concrete slabs or plate steel, that's what prototype railroads do.

That is the plan, I knew the whole time that I would need to add more weight, it was just a matter of testing the unit and seeing it it would stay on the rails at all  I have some Ideas for using steel plates

For Sale 2 GP35Hs. Thes are GP35s with head end generators, and currently are in a Motts Childern Hospital paint. Will be delivered as is, have been well used. HEP generators are almost new as they were just added this summer.

asking per $75,000 unit (OBO)

Ypsi can give them to MQT at AnnPere (Howell, MI) and we'll get it to Chicago (CSX Barr to be exact). Once it's at the junction, we'll have it to Chicago within 36 hours. :)
