One locomotive would cost about 17000 for a elaborate scheme, which is about the price for any loco these days, but it wouldn't matter becuase most companies charge that much so it won't matter, but you know what? I'm feeling like painting it for free so its free :) .

Sure! Also do you have tracks to Toledo? The TSCR wants to interchange with you.

We have trackage rights to Toledo on (I think) CN (or whichever class 1 runs from Detroit-Toledo). We currently do not have any ideas to build our own.

Genset's 177 and 178 arrived today at Toledo. They are in grey primer, and will be taken up to the Brownston Shop and be painted in our scheme.

In other news, the DR&EC now interchanges with the TBR at Toledo.

One of the power plants you serve. They are unit coal trains, currently in Auburn, Indiana and Defiance, Ohio.

The 4 purchased SD40-2's have arrived at Jackson. They will soon be taken to the Brownstown Shop to be painted in our scheme and numbered to 179-182.

The date in which the BASF trains will begin running has been moved to April 12th. All of the purchased engines (excluding the SD40-3W's) should be in by then.

The last 4 GP35's and the last 3 GP40-2's arrived at the Brownstown Shop today. They will only be getting a DR&EC reporting mark, as they are being put into service tomorrow. It is unknown when they will be able to be painted in our scheme.

Channel 4 News Report - "A horrific scene unfolded this evening when a DR&EC freight train derailed just outside of Hamtramck, Michigan. Reports say that at approximately 9:42 PM, the train struck a chunk of metal resting on the tracks. The train was hauling grain, bound for Port Huron. A witness that lives in a neighborhood near the site commented on the derailment: "I've been living here for nearly ten years. Trains pass through here everyday, and this is the first time I've ever witnessed something like this."

A small fire broke out as the fuel in the locomotive leaked and ignited. Hamtramck Fire, Police, and EMS departments were on the scene within minutes of the accident. Both engineers were reported to be in an injured, but stable condition. They were taken by ambulance to Detroit Receiving Hospital in Detroit.

The DR&EC confirmed that none of the 38 cars on the train were carrying hazardous materials. The engineers told Click on Detroit crews that they did not see the metal until it came into view of the headlights. The locomotive's black box will be recovered to make sure that the train was following the speed limit, which is standard protocol for any derailment. Both engineers will also be tested for drugs and alcohol, but police do not suspect these played any factor in the derailment.

Police say that the metal was most likely placed on the track by vandals, as it was strategically placed on the head of the rail. Hamtramck and Detroit PD are asking that anyone who may have information on the vandals, to please contact them immediately."

The train was H241, a grain train from Toledo to Port Huron. SD40-2 151 was running solo pulling this train. 151 was damaged, but will be repaired. The line to Port Huron is double tracked up to Mt. Clemens, which is north of Hamtramck. However, the derailed grain cars are blocking both lines, delaying all train to and from Port Huron until the wreckage is cleaned up. The track which H241 was running on was badly damaged, but the paralleling line was unharmed. The cars blocking the undamaged track will be removed first, to allow trains to run through the site.

As stated by Channel 4, the metal was most likely placed on the tracks by vandals. Hamtramck and Detroit police departments are searching for the vandals that are responsible.

Vandals are exactly why we have electric fences around yards and storage areas.
