NYCW Derailment

Unread post by DT&I »

At about 12:34 AM a heavily loaded coal train was decending in the Allegheny Mountains when the brakes failed. The train quickly picked up speed until it hit a farely sharp curve, there the two engines and 69 of the 72 cars derailed injuring the two crew members. Hospital officials say they are in stable condition. The two units, both U30C's were heavily damaged but will be repaired.
Crews quickly repaired the tracks but some of the coal hoppers will be scrapped. Officials say alcohol was not a factor.
I'm just here to put in time claims and complain
