TSCR 5402(GP35) to TSCR 8635(GP35-2)

GP35 rebuild program comes to a close with only 9 more remaining in service.
GP60's have been assigned to be based out of Saginaw Yard in Michigan.

Also being talked about are rebuilding the SD70M's to SD70MAC's but currently the funds are not sufficient.
SD80MAC's have been renumbered into the 6801-6823 series.

EX-TSCR SD45-2's have been purchased from NREX by BNSF. Rumor is that those are to be used for ECO units. They were listed with a pretty low price due to their poor electronics and poor frame condition. When they were rebuilt TSCR really only derated them to 3,500 HP.

TSCR is scheduled to add three new tracks to a growing intermodal yard in the Cleveland area.

D&F Food Distribution is scheduled to have 2 sidings built on their property north of Gilman, IL with a capacity of 50+ reefers once their warehouse is complete there.

A 20 MPH slow order has been put in place for the Great Lakes Division, Minnesota Division, and the Chicago Division. Anywhere track speed is under 20 MPH the track speed will be set at 5 MPH due to the extreme temperatures.

Switches on branch lines and yard must be inspected before being passed over. All signals must be called on any line to ensure that they are functioning properly. In dark territory all trains are to proceed through interlockings at restricted speed with permission from the dispatcher controlling the territory.

It is also advised that crews bring sufficient clothing. All lead locomotives must have functioning heat in the cab and it is recommended that all trains have at least one extra locomotive on the head end in case of mechanical or other problems with equipment.

Remember, no job is more important than your safety.
Thank you, TSCR management.

"Breaking: TSCR has derailed a few trailers in Perry Yard in Chicago. Witnesses say an eastbound intermodal train was passing by the yard on the main track when they heard a loud rumbling and felt the floor of the house shaking. James Carlton of Chicago, IL. reported seeing the flatcar pushing up snow and dirt as it rolled along the ground until the trailer fell onto the adjacent track.

Only one car derailed and three trailers are now on the ground. Crews have already been dispatched to the scene and will begin cleaning up the mess as soon as they arrive. The cause has not officially been determined but officials are guessing a broken rail is the culprit.

None of the trailers were carrying hazardous materials. And local residents can remain in their homes."

TSCR will be rerouting trains off the original TSCR main and onto the ex-EJ&E.
Few trains are expected to be delayed and the derailment will not take a long amount of time to clean up.

TSCR's SD40T-2's will be rebuilt to SD40X-3ECO's which will feature a new TSCR engineered 12 cylinder 645ECO-X mover and will yield 3,900 HP under ideal conditions. It will meet EPA tier 4 standards and be classified as a completely new build. Plans are to replace the entire cab and add an EMD built low emission kit behind the cab along with flared radiators. The remaining SD40T-2's in Ohio Central paint will be repainted after the rebuilding. They are planned to be rebuilt when shopped for their 90 day at Chicago.

Plans are to test these new units on manifests in between Chicago and New Orleans.

TSCR's Ex-EJ&E SD38-2's are in the process of being rebuilt to SD38-3's but will stay in the 8711-8725 block. They will be fitted with RCO equipment and receive a new cab with air conditioning. These upgrades will be to further accomodate these units for yard and local service.

News:

With CP going after NS, TSCR has openly stated that they are not in favor of a "final solution" round of mergers and are against creating two huge rail systems in North America. TSCR believes a final round of mergers would be unbeneficial to the TSCR system and finding a partner would be a great challenge thus leaving much of the TSCR system to be cut up and sold separately. Due to the fact that NS and CP both have shares in the IHB in Chicago, TSCR has openly stated that one company controlling the majority of the IHB would be detrimental to the other lines that use and rely on IHB trackage.
"IF, the final round of mergers were to occur, we here at TSCR find it difficult to see ourselves finding a suitable partner that we would be a good fit for, and more importantly a good fit for us," a TSCR spokesperson said Friday. Since then, sources have leaked information suggesting that a TSCR-CN line would be possible and that the two companies have been talking but when asked, TSCR officials declined to comment.

UPS, TSCR, CSXT, UP, and the NYSW system have been in talks about a possible new intermodal service between eastern ports and the west coast. TSCR and NYSW are currently looking for ways to avoid using CSX trackage in any way and talks are still in preliminary stages on how this would be possible.

The 50 Ex-UP C40-8's are undergoing inspection in Chicago and will soon be patched and placed into active service.

Plans to double track the Ex-IC main between Memphis and Chicago by 2019 have been announced due to rising traffic levels and projected growth.
