BGS Mountain Subdivision - Train Location Updates

L65 is working BF Goodrich in Walton right now, they should be wrapping up and heading back west by 13:00. Solo power is BGS 6086 facing west.

192 has their train together and air test complete in the yard at Binghamton with BGS 6631, BGS 6658 and NALX 7334 up front. They've got 143 cars in tow, and the paperwork shows them having a 40 car drop off at Albany with a 22 car pickup. They'll probably get a helper unit at Norwalk for the climb up from Corbin to Worthington.

216 just got back on the move at CP 46 (Midway) after meeting westbound counterpart 217. They've got BGS 8002 and BGS 8124 while 217 has BGS 5530 and BGS 8100. Both trains have around 9,000 feet today.

193 is getting a recrew at Bainbridge with BGS 8512 and BGS 8635 and a 51 car train.

174 is at Everette with NALX 7315, BGS 6164, BGS 711 and BGS 6683 leading a 133 car train.

175 just rolled to a stop at CP 114 (W. Albany) with the consist of the day: BGS 6815, BGS 6127, BGS 6103, BGS 8050 and BGS 6233 and a 151 car train in tow. One of only three active C39-8's leading four other GE's and a long heavy train. They're waiting for NS traffic and are going to get a helper unit at Grelton for the climb up to Fogg. Should be a decent amount of people out to shoot this one as they make their afternoon run west.

More to come later.

There's a track gang working at Springs on main two right now, so no movements over main two between Midway and Worthington until at least 14:00.

192 is getting their train around in Binghamton, currently doubling up in the yard with BGS 5570 and BGS 6115 for power. Paperwork shows a 103 car train.

216 is recrewing at Carter with BGS 6191, BGS 6233 and BGS 8121 leading around 10,000 feet of containers.

217 just hit the 20 mph speed restriction at W. Corbin. Speed restriction is up due to bridge work on Highway 91. Power is BGS 700 and BGS 764, nice pair of SD70MAC's with a huge train of about 12,000 feet.

A very late 540 (NS Run-Thru train) is approaching Fogg and will take the siding at Bardstown to meet 193 coming west. 540 has NS 8749, NS 9139 and NS 9818 with a 75 car train.

193 is at Allenston waiting on CN cross-traffic. NALX 7334, BGS 6658 and BGS 6631 leading a 106 car train.

More updates coming in a little bit.

174 is just by Beldin with BGS 8102 leading a 49 car train.

175 is getting their train together in Albany. Power is CSX 7491, BGS 6645 and NALX 7350 with an 89 car train.

A 355 is called at 13:00 in Albany. A yard crew has the train and power together already. BGS 5008 and BGS 8518 up front and 80 empty racks trailing. Nice to see an SD40 leading in 2011.

The track gang that was at Springs yesterday worked their way west and tied down on the connection to the NYS in Norwalk last night. The crew went back on duty at 10:00 today and they are currently working on the main between CP 11 and CP 13, so all trains are being routed through the siding. That's all they're billed to do today, so my guess is once they get done they'll go to Binghamton.

192 has their train together and air-test complete in Binghamton, and they'll be turned loose shortly. BGS 708 and BGS 7111 on the point with a 90 car train.

216 is just west of Binghamton now with BGS 8103 and BGS 8117 leading about 9,000 feet of train. They'll get a recrew at Carter and be on their way.

109 is by CP 19 in Norwalk with BGS 6602 and BGS 6249 leading 81 cars.

175 is close behind 109, they just called CP 25 with SOO 6053, NS 6710, BGS 6643 and NS 7113 and a 113 car train. That's quite an interesting quartet of EMD 60 products.

Track maintainer R. Gorsuch is currently working his way west between CP 50 and CP 62 on the single track. Sounds like after that he'll be going towards Bairdstown, but he'll be wating at Bainbridge (CP 62) for a few trains before that. Currently no trains between CP 42 (Worthington) and MP 111 (Grelton) which is rather odd.

147 just rolled up to the west end of Albany for a crew change with a classic trio of SD40-2's. NALX 7301, NALX 7321 and BGS 6412 and a 100 car train. Those two NALX units are both wearing their ATSF paint as well.
