Re: CSXT Fort Wayne Line
You're going to have to build crew rooms at Gary and Valpo. There are no customers west of VonTobel lumber in Valpo so your Gary local will have absolutely nothing to do. I don't remember a grain elevator in Etna Green. Only grain elevator on the west end of the line that receives unit trains is Hamlet. Bunge in Decatur ships unit trains though.
These are my favorite type of paper railroads. Its like you are the boss of an actual railroad and run it how you see fit. IMO, your operations are too scattered with locals in Gary, Valpo and Warsaw. Unless you plan on a lot more customers, CFE does Warsaw west with one local.

The grain elevator in Etna Green is fictional. Thanks for the tips Boobie. I don't know a whole lot about the line.Mr. Tops wrote:You're going to have to build crew rooms at Gary and Valpo. Re: CSXT Fort Wayne Line
I have spent many hours on the train thinking of how they could run the railroad better. But...its a pelt railroad so I don't know why im telling you how to run it. LOL
Re: CSXT Fort Wayne Line
Oh well, no harm no foul. No kidding, the way it's being run by RA is awful.Mr. Tops wrote:I have spent many hours on the train thinking of how they could run the railroad better. But...its a pelt railroad so I don't know why im telling you how to run it. LOL

If Mr Tops had stayed he'd eventually be GM and would have made changes for the better on the whole IORY / CFE lines.Y@ wrote:Oh well, no harm no foul. Re: CSXT Fort Wayne Line
Sounds like CSX is going to lengthen the siding at Essex, Indiana (Steel Dynamics) between Arcola and Columbia City. The siding is currently 3,500 feet. It looks like the plan is to extend it west from it's current ending point, to Paige Road east of Columbia City.
Here's a map showing the plan: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie ... 3acbed4d96

Re: CSXT Fort Wayne Line
As I mentioned in your other post, Essex Siding is much longer than 3500 ft. I want to say it's nearly 2 miles and looking at the map and gauging on the scale in the bottom left corner that looks to be about right. The west end is at MP 333 and the east end is around 331 I want to say. It's been 8 months and I only worked there for 2, so don't quote me...I knew at one point but I'll be darn if I can remember but I know it's a lot bigger than 3500 ft.
Re: CSXT Fort Wayne Line
Train list has been updated to include the turns to the Delphos mixing center.
