Well, it's been two weeks since the SM commenced operations over several former OHNR/BGS routes in Michigan and Indiana. Here is the basic info and some of the latest happenings.
SM operates over the following routes.
Reed City Sub: Manistee-Luther-Reed City-Clara-Crump-Bay City.
Port Huron Sub: Bay City-Gilford-Maryville-Clifford-Yale-Port Huron.
East End: Port Huron-Sarnia-Glencoe-St. Thomas.
Yale Sub: Yale-Riley Center-Rochester Hills.
Burton Sub: Bay City-Tuscola-Burton-Ortonville-Waterford.
West End: Manistee-Ludington-Pentwater-Stony Lake-Dalton-Muskegon.
Greenville Sub: Muskegon-Kent City-Greenville-Perrinton-Chapin-Flint-Burton. (joins Burton Sub here)
South End: Muskegon-Grand Haven-Holland-Allegan-Dowagiac-Mishawaka-Warsaw-North Manchester-Huntington-Decatur.
Current road trains are:
(08:00) MNBC: Manistee-Bay City.
(09:00) BCMN: Bay City-Manistee.
(09:00) PHST: Port Huron-St. Thomas.
(10:00) STPH: St. Thoams-Port Huron.
(07:30) MUWT: Muskegon-Waterford.
(08:00) WTMU: Waterford-Muskegon.
(06:00) MUDC: Muskegon-Decatur.
(13:00) DCMU: Decatur-Muskegon.
Local turns operate on the other subdivisions, bringing cars in to be added on by road trains. Power for the road trains is usually a pair of SD40-2's, while extra units are kept in each yard to be added on for help. All road trains operate 6 days a week, the only day off being Sunday.
The current SM roster is as follows.
SM GP35 780, 782, 784-786, 788, 790-791, 793
SM SD40-2 3000-3015
SM GP38-2 3120-3131
SM GP40-2 3132-3140
SM GP50 5000-5003
SM units wear a BGS inspired paintscheme, seeing as the OHNR owns them. Here is SD40-2 3004.

This is easier to follow than some of your mega paper railroads .
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...
Re: Southern Michigan RR Happenings..
Excellent choice for the SM paint scheme Don, do you have a special program to create your engine image(s) (SD40-2,...), I'm trying to prove you CAN teach an old dog new tricks (me). Fred
Re: Southern Michigan RR Happenings..
Fred, I've made all these... I use basic MSPaint. Nothing too complicated there.

Y@, where do you get the blank locomotive drawings for the engines that you can paint?
