CSX GRE MQT Train Location Update 5-30-08

Unread post by Raildudes dad »

Looks like a crew on duty at the GRE. The yard is empty but the 118 isn't tied on to 371 yet. Trackwork is done, no work crew just 2 machines left in the yard.

Y320 heading back to the yard, approaching Seymour right now.
Q326 should be pulling out of the siding at Gross momentarily. According to the RN, that is it for the GR Sub for awhile today.

How about an east side up date......

Grain train coming down from Oakley on GLC right now. PM 1225 waiting at their gate for it to clear so they can enter the main and move some cars around.

As a comment on K999, why would they pull up to Grand Rapids, unload, then take the empty train right near where they are going to be trucking it to? Has anyone seen this train to see if it's actually empty or if it's loaded? Help us blind computer people out.

I was wondering that myself as I watched it go by near Fox. The truck springs were not compressed very far so they were either lightly loaded or not loaded. I could not see any stone above the sides of the cars.
And for people down the line, K999 power is freshly painted CSX 4574 and almost YN1 8046.
