I got faked out by SB intermediate signal #504 in Fenton for this train. It was green (its normal state), so I continued my drive down to Holly (~7 minutes), where I was surprised to see a light approaching down the tracks. I've always seen #504 red when a train is this close to Holly/Fenton, and I don't think they were going any faster than normal. Sometimes I've waited in Fenton for 20 minutes on a red, which is enough time for a train to come all the way up from Waterford. I think I'll have to revise my theory on how these intermediates work...

The second loco on this train was another visiting NS unit, #7636

Dave, do you have any information about where E251 originates or terminates? Is Cory the end of the line (and if so, when it's done, does it come east as some other symbol)?

Thanks for all the info 251, guys. That's the train I see most often these days and it's nice to know more about it. As for the mty cars coming back, the regular SB trains on the northern Holly seem to run between 17:00-20:00. I have rugrat herding duty at those times, so I don't get to watch them often, but the few trains I've seen do have mty racks.
