CSX MQT GRE Train Location Update 3-26-08

Looks quiet this morning at the GRE. The yard is empty except for Amtrak. Looks like CSX picked up the two outbound Amways overnignt (that's all they brought back yesterday).

X500 on the Detroit Sub, got'em at Salem Hill. Flag man is in place at Sheldon Road.

Something very short past MP 79.9 (Dobie Road) at 2:10p. Just 20 axles--Y102, maybe? MOW? Or a light power move? I was down in my office so I didn't even get the direction.

Shoulds like D80126 is heading down to Livingston to go get N956.. JT and Jon Hall are enroute that way, so we'll find out it's power soon if someone else doesn't post it. Livingston is located about halfway between St Joseph and Michigan City, but closer to St Joseph.

Livingston is at Bridgman..... Near the Cook plant. This is just south of Stevensville.
This is my life. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

If this is a problem get used to it.

Q327 westbound at Okemos Road 4:36pm. Power is CSXT 7380 in Conrail livery and CSX 8630. Twelve cars, ten of which are to be left at Ensel.

D00625 - rail train just went west through Zeeland. GP30 road slug up front AND B & O bay window caboose 904000 on the end. It's taking the siding at Waverly if you want to get your pictures quick!

might have that train number wrong...sounds like he was calling signal as W-020-23

Can anyone account for a westbound (?) passing MP79.9 (Dobie Road,
Okemos) at about 9:10pm? Reported at 1877 feet and 112 axles.

N956 just arrived in Grand Rapids. Power will be swapped out. Outbound units will be BNSF 9354 and CEFX 1022 again.

Thanks Jon :D Do you know why they always swap the power out? It would be nice to see some different units come by the house.

Could have something to do with what power BNSF wants back quickest. Also have to factor in what units have fuel, sand, ect.

Maybe this latest N956 has two brand new 9100's on her. So they decided, "Hey, better not put those brand new units on the coal to SBS." :( :lol: :wink:
