Zack, does it say when E945 is supposed to leave Flint? Also, is N95621 a southbound or is that sitting in McGrew waiting to go north?

Mike, N956s are loaded coal trains headed north. After being emptied at Essexville, they return as E945s, usually via Grand Rapids but occasionally (as yesterday) continuing south past Plymouth and then heading west in Ohio instead.

The N95621 sitting there came in last night (heard it NB crossing 7 Mile at about 12:30 am early this morning when I was in bed). It is (or was) waiting to go north.

One thing I've noticed about the SB empties (E945s) in Flint: it seems like when they have a recent time posted, it means they are on the move or about to be. But most of the time they are listed as just "still in Flint"

Ok, now I get it. So now I sit and wait patiently for E94523.

D801 is coming back your way Tim... tower is telling them that they need to go get Q326 out of the pass at Waverly? Very weird, as i heard Q326 going by my house about an hour ago going east. Did the D801 you saw Tim have any cars with it?

The radio in BNSF 9354 might be bad - we didn't hear them call the signal at Riley St. - even when we were right beside them, the conductor could barely be heard - maybe she just wasn't talking loud enough. They were pulling over a mile of eastern empties.

When we went over the yard at Waverly we saw a train there that needed power...

CSX 8559 was the trailing unit on Q335-23 today. E446-23 going over the DD at Fowlerville now coming east. Anybody see todays Q326-23 with CEFX 6014 as the only unit? Have never seen at Soo Line that dirty. Ex Soo Line as the case is.

SBS Z144 departed Flint at 19:30 and arrived into Essexville at 23:00 with BNSF 6079 and BNSF 6176. The RN Dispatcher was telling Q321 (CSX 8151 and 8356) that would likely meet a coal train bound for Flint somewhere near Wayne or Romulus.

No sign of that E945 in Flint this evening either.

Expect things to be a little slow regarding coal trains on the CSX after this mornings derailment in Chicago. They had a train derail near West 73rd Street that ruptured an underground gas line
