UP 1988 (Katy Heritage Unit) Heading For CN To Detroit

Unread post by gridejq »

UP 1988 (Katy Heritage Unit) is/was leading UP AKSGFR 04 (Kansas City-Griffith/CN, IN). Train is currently by Pence, IL at 1731 CST but it less then 45 minutes out of Griffith. Train consists of 77 empty racks (after setting out 5 empties at Villa Grove, IL) for the Detroit and will probably become a E250 or whatever else they feel like symboling it. The unit will probably return on a E251 but power has been floating all around into Toledo and into Port Huron/Sarnia.

Caught 396 at Trowbridge a while ago. For a brief second, while the train was approaching, I thought that 8023 was 1988.
Guess I should have hung around longer. :(

Nice shots, GLC392. None of mine were worth posting :(

I went by Pontiac at ~7:45am and didn't see it from my usual vantage points. The service area was pretty busy, though.
