CSX GRE MQT 3-4-08

Looks quiet at the GRE, CSX delivered, no pickup or delivery by NS. Cab car on 370/371 acccording to the all night railfans :D . MQT SB across the diamond at 6:35 with the 2 GATX units.

late night / early morning at east waverly

1116pm - d802 - lite power - enroute to west olive to bring eastern
empties back to wyoming
1216am - d803 - lite power - enroute to wells to push loads up the hill
with d801
102am - 19.1 - 327 - csx 9020 ld & 9024? ( they were paired together
sunday went they went past lite power) - 2665' - 184axles
43cars - going to east saugatuck for x500
102am - rn gave permission for d803 to head into wells at the east
end against d801 to let x500 go past wells - after x500 pasted
d803 came out the east end - down the main to the west end
and went against the rear of the loads as pushers
110am - 327- wb - by east waverly
114am - clear holland
130am - 327 calls app med at 30 - med app at east end saugatuck
goes main to siding at east saugatuck
134am - x500 - clear east end east saugatuck
141am - 327 - siding to main west end east saugatuck
the loads at wells ready to go east after 327 passes
147am - x500 - clear holland
151am - clear east waverly
158am - 19.1 - x500 - 1 motor - 5761' - 256 axles 62 cars & 1 double rack
at 200am we have
d802 at the plant getting empties ready to go east
d801/d803 with loads for the plant waiting at wells for 327, they
have the blocks to go north at this time
327 enroute to wells
500 enroute to hudsonville
with d700 and z627 to show yet
305am - d801 slow clear holland
307am - d801 - app med west wye, d803 app at 30
d803 to do the waverly pickup - they will have a wait
approx 430am
d700 all stop at east waverly
z627 enter roost block
d803 at waverly doing the pickup
to go by east waverly between 430 and 705am wakeup call
the empties to wyoming
326
z627 to go north
possible d801 lite power from the plant to wyoming

Three way meet at Carleton in about two minuets. Q29004 south on #2, Q33404, south on #1, Q39203 north on #1, with CSXT 5428, 8865, 8049, 8418, heading for Plymouth, and Q27203 working New Boston with two CW60AC's.

Q33504 was reported by the defect detector at MP 79.9 to be 3304 ft.

The odd thing is that the last two mornings, this train hasn't made a radio call that I could hear. I heard it pass the DD, but didn't hear the Clear Okemos Road or Clear Meridian call I expect to hear next--until I checked in here I didn't know what train it was or which direction it was going.

Unlike CN crews, CSX crews have been very consistent in making radio calls at signals. I can usually hear Clear West End Williamston, Clear (MP) 75, Clear Meridian, Clear Okemos, and Clear East End Trowbridge calls from all CSX trains.

N913-04, eastern empties, is out in the blocks right now. Sounded like they were stuck following D708 back to Ensel. Power is CSXT 725 & 111. Met Q335 at Elmdale. Power on 335 was CSXT 5258 & 5261. Y320 returned to Wyoming ahead of 335 with the 2517 leading. At the same time Q326 was arriving into Wyoming Yard from the west with CSXT 726 as its sole power. A yard job is down the Acme spur at this time also.

Mikekmac- Q335 was calling signals very softly over here until they got around Fox. I couldn't understand them to begin with either.

Something a little different - Y121 just headed north into the Power Block with 2 engines pushing - CSXT 2697 and 2654. 12:25 PM.

Woot! Trains are running everywhere right now, except in Holland where Zack is sitting trackside for lunch. :lol: :P

Q326 left GR with 726 in the lead and 8 cars at 12:45.

Z151 took off northward from North Park and 14:30, had cars for Ambassador and Michigan Rail & Storage. Plan was to head as far as Walhalla now, swapping and leaving Manistee & Ludington cars there. GMTX 2648 & 2676 for power.
