Was north through Byron Center around 5:40pm. WAMX 4209, WAMX 4125, and 35ish cars. When about 25 cars went by the house, train slammed on the brakes and came to a stop in a hurry. Waited about a minute, and continued north. Can only guess they had a close call at 84th St.

Back south at 8:25pm. WAMX 4125, WAMX 3807, and 25ish cars.

GRE locomotive has been attached to the west end of a line of 10-12 hoppers most of the day. Some hopper cars parked over Alpine Ave. The interchange tracks are full. CSX Y297 was there around 6:00p with 2 locomotives, so I assume some of those are empties, headed south to the CSX yard.

GRE has a contract crew scattering the tie pile that has been along the siding in Ada for the last few months. Wonder if the GRE is under a work curfew?

Ann St. is mostly full, 10 King hoppers parked on the Amway siding, 20 or so south of Lowell, but looks like one track in Lowell is unoccupied with cars, still 15 or 20 on various tracks by King. Hopefully CSX takes a few empties back tonight from Ann St.

They were still moving cars around the yard at Noon.

Grand Elk 303 (GR to Kalamazoo train) @ 4:30pm sitting idle at Hughart Yard in Grand Rapids with engineer sitting and conductor not seen. WAMX #4209 and WAMX #4206? (Black and yellow paint engine) with 0 cars. Probably building their southbound train

Grand Elk 303 @ 5:30pm rolling south through Wyoming, Mi 54th St area with power above. Can’t confirm 2nd unit
