L301-04 @ 12:03 westward, Pass Track to Main Track, Holland, Mi Depot mp CG25.3 with CSX engines #8199 + #8066 & 8 cars. He has work at Hartford mp CG68.7 & Sawyer mp CG105.2

L302-04 cleared the west end of Howell at 18:00 with 66 cars depending how bad I botched up on counting cars on his 10 mph train. Evidently signal issues as L303 earlier with its one car train creeped by just as slow. Same power as what L303-03 had going east on Sunday.

...as they are usually, but not all the time one number apart as an empty and load.

Regarding this pattern, it looks like the loaded eastbounds are typically one number below the empty westbounds. G804 for Webberville returns as G803, G802 for Grand Ledge returns as G801, G126 for Newago returns as G125. It looks like G077 is used for short/local runs, examples being G790 finishing the trip as G077 from Plymouth to Webberville, and G804-12 of January 14th, which was not spotted due to the cold, instead running from Williamston to Webberville as G077-15. What is interesting to me is that G790 was recrewed as G077, then returned as G789. Two symbols are unaccounted for in my notes, G764 and G817, which have ran together as an empty/loaded set on 11/24/2023.

Speaking of, G804-01 made its way to Plymouth from Walbridge this afternoon, and L305-04 had 11 cars on their way back to Lansing at 18:24.

00:27 - Dispatch heard talking with G804-01, sounds like engine trouble with "trail only" and "dead battery" heard during the one-sided conversation.
00:58 - Sounds like they will still make it to Webberville, signal indication (to proceed from Plymouth) after dispatch talks to "the chief" about the engine issues. EE Brighton displaying a clear aspect.
01:48 - G804-01 thru EE Brighton, 5292 and 7027 leading 372 axles, 90 cars. Lots of old Chessie hoppers in the mix.
