Drove over the Wabash at Whittaker today around 11:30am and saw a dimmed headlight to the west. Gave it a few minutes and sure enough a headlight appeared, but also from the west. It was an eastbound CP with aprox 120 cars, with a KCS unit on the headend and one mid-train. Lots of covered gondolas and some Omya tank cars. About 15 minutes later the train with the dimmed headlight passed through eastbound, just a single NS SD40-2 (3455?). I'm guessing this was the Milan crew, do they typically run light? I'm curious what their typical day involves.

NS 4851 is bound for Georgia on 189, which is already down into Tennessee.

That job is B71 (Milan - Oakwood turn), they start their day in Milan, switches industries enroute, then head to Oakwood. Sometimes they run east to Oakwood as light power, then head west with cars or the other way around later in the day.

Ethanol train 6K4’s last few cars are on the ground at CD499.6 on the Chicago Line. Amtrak 355 is shoving back to the old Michigan City station to await busses and 48 back to Chicago per Facebook. Sounds like everyone’s okay!
