CN Train Location Updates - February 2023

M356 or L500(??) east by mp205 cam appearing at 00:10:49. 2 CN. Train taking M1 at cpPotterville to head into Snow Yard in Lansing for work.

EB cleared mp205 cam at 00:57:36 led by BNSF #5871. Overheard the power & number on radio a while ago. Going to do work in Lansing at Cory and/or Snow Yard


Elsewhere, there's apparent issues with a switch going on in Flint. A WB hasn't been able to proceed out of the yard for a while, and another WB is being held up. It's likely the WB out of Flint was prepared to take the High Wye in Durand to head into its yard for work.

2 WBs were/are lined out of Port Huron. One of them got the go-ahead while the other is staying put in PH until M394 clears and takes M4. There's also a train on M3.

00:17 - EB with 5750 and 5742 by MP 225, on M2, heard discussing W. Flint switch issues about 25 minutes later.

U-709 is Ethanol right? Haven't heard/seen this symbol on CN through Michigan before, do you happen to have origin/destination? Any additional info or was this just a fluke?

at 14:44 train 116 went east by 225, 5650 and 2520 leading.

Amtrak, despite being at the station, had only left at 21:12 or so. The P42 was trailing.
