Anybody know the origin of the (scrap metal) gondola loads at the head end of the train? The cars had mud all the way up their sides around the wheels. Did they come from one of the shortlines?
There are 2 customers in Grand Rapids where they load scrap metal onto those gondolas. It did rain last few days and it was pretty muddy when I came by yesterday and the day before. Sometimes I see muddy scrap metal get loaded on the machine operators in the 2 scrapyards.
CSX has 4 customers in West Michigan that load scrap. Beacon Recycling, Padnos Front St, Padnos Turner St, and Padnos Holland.
Think I was referring to Beacon Recycling and Padnos Front St as the main 2 customers I see with loaded scrap metals.

Power was 5289 + 3118. 90 all CSX grain cars. Left the house after it went by so never heard if it was another train for Webberville or this one went to Grand Ledge.
