Unless they run a loaded or empty coal train. For loaded coal trains, we don't usually hear them until they're at mile post 95 & then being reported by the Defect Detector site at mp 91.9 The St Joe Bridge is mp 87. For the empty coal trains, when they're heard on the on-line scanner, it may be between 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get to St Joe.
Updates are posted here & at the Bangor, Michigan Live Rail cam site https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIQnvi2FmUg
Q327 is due to arrive at the Bangor cam around 11:15am

They'll turn the bridge in time for the train to cross without slowing them down. Maximum speed limit for all trains on the bridge is 15 miles per hour. Q327 @ 11:42am was about 17 miles away from the bridge.

Is that a head-end restriction or full-train restriction?

From my understanding, it's for the whole train & you'll hear the CSX Bridge Tender telling each train when they have cleared the bridge.

D706-22 @ 11:32 eastward had reported by mp CH111 with CSXT engines #5396 + #4566 & 106 cars. As of 12:00pm, I haven't heard the DD at mp CH104.3 reporting him (could be the lesser scanner range at this time of day or it was stepped on by another call).

Q327-22 @ 12:00pm westward had reported from Riverside mp CG80.1 he's about 7 miles from the St Joe Bridge.
