We’re they still going to work Holland or just head straight to Wyoming?

At 20:20pm, I'm hearing him at Saugatuck saying "3 steps applied" - no idea what's going on there. Not sure yet if he will do the 21 car set off at Waverly/Holland - thinking of Amtrak & how he could be affected if D801-17 were to try to do the set off.

Update: Ok, found up what's up with D801-17 at Suagatuck - he is picking up the lone (good) car Q326 had taken into that siding. D801-17 had ran as lite engines to pick up the 97 good cars Q327 had moved to the main track at Wells Siding (Q327 left the bad car inside Wells). The original problem Q326 had was with THE 2nd car in his original 99 car consist.

Q327-17 @ 8:31pm westward reported by the DD mp CG91.9 with 12 axles & 131 ft long. CSXT engines #5380 + #466 lite. He's headed to New Buffalo mp CG113.9 where he had left his consist on the Main. Amtrak #370 will have to loop thru New Buffalo Siding to go around Q327.

D801-17 (Q326 re-crewed) @ 8:36pm eastward reported from the east end of Sauagtuck mp CG32 on the move with CSXT engines #5353 + #5301 & 98 cars.

D801-17 (Q326 re-crewed) @ 8:47pm eastward at the Holland Depot mp CG25.3 with CSXT engines #5353 + #5301 & 98 cars. At the speed he's traveling at, it doesn't appear he's going to make the 21 car set off that Q326 was planning on doing.

Hey Tom, just wanted to thank you for your detailed posts on the Q326 fiasco today! I wasn't around to check it out but it's fun to know how they figured it all out.

As an aside, a suggestion I've been thinking about, is that it'd be cool to know how late P370/371 is at Bangor...I can't remember its official time, but I bet you do! No worries if not, I love the heck out of your posts!

Thank you, Saturnalia :D The Amtrak Bangor scheduled times for P371 is 07:31am & P370 is 9:47pm.
At times, I don't understand the CSX logic, like last night with Q326/Q327 & Amtrak. Why did Q327 tie down their train on the main instead of taking his train into New Buffalo siding when he had cut away from it (maybe when he was notified he'll be assisting Q326 and the braking distance necessitated him to stop on the main)?
Q327 was re-crewed at Saugatuck around 4:30pm & after assisting D801-17(Q326) he had gone westward to return to his tied down train at New Buffalo mp CG116.5 & was reported by the DD at mp CG91.9 at 8:31pm.
David (K1NGxBONDx007) was track side at New Buffalo keeping me posted & watching the events unfold as Amtrak was routed into New Buffalo siding to await Q327's power to return to his train. My question is, with Q327 having a fairly new "fresh crew" on board, why wasn't he routed into Livingston Siding at mp CG97.4 after passing over the DD at mp CG91.9 & allow Amtrak to continue his trip eastward?
It also amazes me how there is so much "down down" for rail traffic at Bangor & many times we'll see D700 & an empty or a loaded coal train wanting to pass thru Bangor when the evening Amtrak train is in the general "neighborhood". I think to myself "sheeesh, all these hours we had with nothing going by the Bangor live cam, why didn't you run those trains then?".
Why is D700's on duty time close to Amtrak 370's Bangor arrival time - why wasn't his start time not assigned to be an earlier time? It makes me ponder & I do all of this for free.

Q327-18 @ 09:15am westward reported by DD mp CG91.9 with 136 axles & 1,894 ft long. CSXT engines #5301 + #5353 & 31 cars.

D700 goes on duty at 8 pm because D702 goes on duty at 8 am. They space them 12 hours apart because they both use the same locomotive(s), ensuring that the previous crew will always be finished or dead by the time the next crew comes on duty.
