388 light went East by Trowbridge at 22:15. I'm guessing this is a D901?

Still haven't heard anything on the scanner, but they may be doing something with the cars dropped off in the Trowbridge pass a few days ago

if they were light power, they would be resticted to med speed.

822a - app pleasant st ( sa )
back in the day before 131 was built, a 24' x 16' white interlocking tower ( est on the length and width of the tower )
was located in the middle of a triangle of tracks between wealty and franklin sts. the old pere marquette ran along
the south side west to east, pennsy' ran south to north on the west side ( pm rr had trackage rights on the pennsy for
passenger trains east to detroit, and nyc rr was on the east side. the tower was listed as second ave in the ett, and
the office call was sa. on the north side was grand rapids uniom station were the pm, pennsy, and nyc met.
when the xway was built in the late 50's, the c&o ( ex pm ) build a new tower on pleasant st, just north of franklin st
overpass that controlled the south side of the new track arrangement ( pennsy, c&o, and nyc ) from century ave to franklin st.
the union station was torn down with the pennsy tracks to the west side of the river in place with nyc having trackage rights
to their station over on the west side . in the ett listing pleasant st it retained the sa office call.
in the 50's wealty, hall, and burton sts were all at grade crossings, with gates and rr personal to protect the crossings,
i can't remember if franklin st was an at grade or bridge crossing, the nyc rr yard's north end was at franklin and the south end at hall st.
the pennsy yard ( hughart ) was between burton and hall, with a big roundhouse located just north of hall along century ave.

Pleasant St (SA) was where we issued orders and clearance for our trains destined to the Elmdale Sub. (Actually SD was the abbreviation for subdivision on the C&O). Although I made several "ride the engine" trips from Saginaw to GR and back, I never paid a visit to the tower at Pleasant St. "Eng 3032 run extra Elmdale to Jct Switch Paines." Please excuse my history reminiscence in the updates stream.

D70516 went west by Howell at 04:08 this morning with 113 cars and its usual assigned power. Mid train power was after the 47th car. In addition to its usual eastward facing DPU unit was also four axle unit 2016.

Donnie, the only time light power is restricted to 30 mph is if it is a single light unit (4 or 6 axles). 2 or more light units, or even 1 unit and 1 car (basically anything 8 axles or more) are cleared to run at track speed.
"Remember, 4 mph is a couple, 5's a collision!"
