D705/706 (Sorry, I can never keep the number/direction straight), by Williamston eastbound with CSX 3211 leading and the CSX 738 mid train DPU. Don't have a car count, but fairly large train.

Love the use of the "office calls" there, donnieland! Keepin' that history alive. I still remember most from all stations on the Saginaw dispatching district, even after 30 years away from them! Does it matter? Probably not.

Interesting, I didn't know they had a system for that. Nothing by Brighton (yet) as of 10:25, will update if something changes.
D705 is the Westbound Detroit-Grand Rapids run.
D706 is the Eastbound Grand Rapids-Detroit run. (you saw 706)

back in the day office calls were used on the east end to set the limits of motor car movements,
the train sheet had the motor car movement form on the right hand side, the limits were entered
using office calls instead of the name of the town. in the train order book office calls were used,
instead of the station name, to show where the train order was to be issued at, like da instead of
writing in lake odessa or mc instead of trowbridge

GLC Z62416 has been over on CSX for the last two hours, picking up the 76 cars in the siding and pulling in 77 more for CSX right behind them. Another one of those do it at one time moves which blocks the crossings in downtown Howell for 45 minutes at a minimum. D906 in hold at Fowlerville until until they clear up. which wont be long now. Hope amessmanm didn't wait to long at Trowbridge for the light to turn green yesterday, or in Brighton later for the same reason. 12 hours later and 706, now known as D906 still would not be there. Those even numbered for eastbound trains, and odd numbered for westbound does not apply to grain trains.

Edit: D906 by Howell at 10:47 with 147 cars. DPU after the 74th car. Most of not all cars after the DPU are for GLC and Brighton.
