Now there is some classy intelligent dispatching...have a one car train hold the main while a 40 some car train crawl thru the siding.
And that doesn't even touch on the dimwit rule that if the upbound train (q326) had a rear DPU then the downbound train (Q327) MUST ALSO have a DPU on the rear. Yeah, that's how they MUST do it according to employee friends. If they had a midtrain DPU and one car then what?

D705-02 between 04:24am/04:54am westward reported by the DD mp CH104.3 with 361 axles (+1 axle error) & 3,849 feet long. CSX engines #738 + #3211 & 62 cars (don't know if CSX engine #3211 is running as a DPU).
D705 DPU was on the rear at Howell this morning with 112 cars at the time. DoktorNo thinks holding a one car train on the main while a 40 car train runs thru the pass is nothing compared to at Howell when 100 car 705-706 trains here have had to creep thru the pass for the last four days and nights again because our local parks cars for GLC on the main now. (who has still not been here to pick them up yet) Speaking of which, D708 has not run since Dec. 24th because they cant seem to find a crew for it.

NB mixed freight just turned east at Plymouth. CSX 5208 + 5357 + 160 cars. Sounded like Q508 on scanner.

N801-03 @ 1:40:50pm eastward Bangor's Division St crossing mp CG60.93 with BNSF engines #6237 + #8424 & 130 loaded coal cars. He will hold the main at Grand Junction & add the CSX pushers #579 + #989 at the west end mp CG55.6 & then continue to West Olive.
He had a mix of coal cars I haven't seen before & having different colors used for the end car markings for the rotary couplers. These are the markings seen: CRIX, DEEN, DEEX, DETX, FURX, HEQX, NDYX, NEQX, NOYX, OFOX, & SPSX.

Wonder if it might be a mis-route? Last time this happened, it was BNSF who mistakenly handed off a DTE train which was supposed to go to Detroit as a Consumers Power train for West Olive. Consumers figured it out when it got to West Olive, so it was then run via Grand Rapids to Detroitland. IIRC it was the last loaded coal train through GR.

N801-03 @ 4:32pm reporting from mp CG51 finally on the move from Grand Junction. There were issues firing up comm between the DPU's & headend. Wasn't the crew's fault, they weren't getting the prompts they should have been getting. They're not sure how far they're going to make it before running out of time. He has BNSF engines #6237 + #8424 & 130 loaded coal cars & CSX pusher engines #579 + #989.
