It appears last night's D801-01 had tied down the empty coal train he was hauling with BNSF engines #9190 + #8492 & 130 empty coal cars on the main track at Kirk. Then, he had grabbed the tied down loaded coal train that was inside of Kirk & proceeded eastward with them. This morning, Amtrak P371-04 & Q327-04 were routed thru Kirk siding mp CG70.2 to get around the empty coal train that's still sitting on the main track at Kirk.
@10:12am heard Dispatcher telling Q326 he'll be meeting Q327 at Livingston mp CG97.4 & he also advised Q326 about the empty coal train that is tied down on the main at Kirk mp CG70.2
How many trains are sitting idle on the tracks? Just one now or still two?
Just the empty train. They tied the empty train down on the main, tacked the CSX engines onto the bottom of the loaded train in the siding, got the train together, cabbed to the head end, then took the loaded train east.
From last night's DD66.2 report for D801-02 westward at 10:08pm, the axle count was 540 axles (same as the earlier DD44.2 axle count): CSX engines #3266 + #3209 + BNSF engines #9190 + #8492 & 129 empty coal cars was seen on the Bangor cam then he went into Gross siding. I'm thinking he left the empty coal train with its 2 BNSF engines tied down on the main at Kirk? When D801 went eastward with the loaded coal train from Kirk siding, the leading BNSF engine was #8418 which was the leader on N801-01 when he had tied down inside Kirk siding on July 2nd.

Q326-05 was heard at 09:42am on the CSX Michigan West scanner & it sounded like CSX engine #7201 is leading and he had reported "east on #1 clear Cal Tower". Looked thru the time table and found a Calumet Tower mp DC2.6 on the Barr sub-division. If you are able to access the radio archives on Broadcastify you can hear this radio call at the 13:40 time mark in the 09:14am/09:44am block of calls. Hoping someone is able to verify this.

Hey Tom. Per Bangor chat, that was indeed q326 as csxt 7201 is leading it, and went by Curtis Indiana at 9:59am, so the time sounds right for Calumet tower.

Wooohooooo!! Thank you ~Z~ that is so cool to have heard that radio call! I was hearing quite a few of other radio calls & wasn't paying real close attention & then I said to myself "wait, was that Q326 I just heard??". I replayed it several times to make sure of what I thought I had heard. :D

Q326-05 @ 11:26am with CSX #7201 leading reported "clear Joy". From what I'm seeing, Joy is an Absolute Signal between mp CG124 & CG125 (?).
From the Bangor chat someone posted: Q326's crew is almost out of time & they have 4 Hi-Wide loads this trip and are looking for a siding. The hi-wides are High Tension Tower parts for Mt Olive". The other day, Q326 on July 3rd had set off 2 wide load cars in Sawyer having transformers for West Oilve & I don't think they've been moved out of there yet.

Joy is the name of the next signal east of the east end of the siding at Michigan City. At one time it was the holdout signal for the Monon diamond.

That ballast train with Herzog gons that was sitting @ Wells on Friday is in Wyoming yard. As for Q327, yesterday's power from 326 is sitting at the west end of the yard. I can only think it's crew availability.
