19:09 ET: Q326 (now running as D801) on the move from Wells

Dispatcher asked them to see if the siding in Holland is clear or not, since there is a wide load coming up on Q326 tomorrow sounds like. Crew replied that they will be stopping in Holland on the way back to the plant with their power, perhaps to pickup a coal gon or two which were previously bad ordered?

hi alex
most of, if not all sidings are 10 mph thru the sidings.
with a med app to eas at west end grand junction, the switch would have
lined for the main track, with a slow app at the eas west gn, with a red
all stop at the eas east end gn, if 326 was lines into the siding at the west
end of gn iirc he would have had a med app slow at the intermed. sig and
a slow app at the eas west end gn. iirc

also 326 just past the tower at 757pm two motors head end and two motors and
the tail, all four working to get up the grade thru zeeland. crew calling signals as 801

stay safe alex and everyone

That is how they did the east end but all of the sidings except I think Michigan City and Holland are setup as medium speed, even though they are 10 mph track. So medium approach in, medium clear out, or medium approach medium to run around. But of course, you’re stuck at 10 due to track conditions. Why they never upgraded at least Wells to 30 is a darn good question, IMHO!

P932-08 is currently going through Benton Harbor. Sounds like it will be a couple of months before the Pere Marquette runs normally again.
Train earlier today had IDTX 4604 and IDTX 4605 on the ends, 4 cars (3 horizons with one amfleet.)
Sounds like IDTX 4605 is leading.

NB D73509 passed 7 Mile about 1750 hours with 5244 leading. 8 or 9 loaded coil steel cars up front. Long train, no car count. Anyone have an idea where the steel would be destined? I've never seen coiled steel heading north on this line before.

E800-09 @ 10:00pm westward on the main at Holland mp CG25.3 with BNSF engines #9092 + #8594.
E800-09 @ 10:56:54pm Bangor's Center St crossing mp CG60.35 with BNSF engines #9092 + #8594 & 130 empty coal cars.
(Assuming this is E800-09, engineer wasn't saying the date part of the train #).
