Second unit was 5418 confirmed according to a good friend who passed on the info. Departed Chicago for GRP at 04:00 this morning.

Q327-12 had trouble with both of his engines (CSX #5371 + #3321 from Q326) inside of Grand Rapids & after 4am they gave up & a taxi to Chicago for the crew.

Strange, because both of these units went east by Howell at 05:42 this morning on Q32813, with 52 cars. Q32913 went west at 08:12 with CSX 364+3450+2804. Log book shows 2804 not seen since Oct 2, 2007 when it was in Fostoria Ohio at that time.

My error, I was hearing Q327 & Q328 radio chatter in the archieves. Q327-12 had trouble with both of his engines (BNSF #6036 + #5911 from Q329) at Ivanrest mp CG4.7 between 02:14am & 02:44am
I'm surprised they had tried to use these BNSF engines because they had arrived in Grand Rapids on Q329 already having issues, including a radio report heard about each engine's issues.

Maybe so, but, the issues they had with those BNSF engines when they were on Q329, they should have just left them parked LOL.

They probably figured that since they got the engines working and at least made it from Detroit to Grand Rapids, perhaps they could keep them running and make it to Chicago where they can get repaired. Since they closed the engine house in Grand Rapids, not much can be done there to repair.

Q32914 was early today. By Howell at 07:24 with CSX 3044+4046 and 74 cars. Has Lansing work. D708 took back 15 cars last night after setting off 73 for GLC in the Howell pass. GLC was here to pick them all up less than four hours later with GLC 393+396+329. CSX 4035 replaced 8368 on D708. CSX 4035 is now paired with 4061. Q32814 went east this morning at 06:38 with CSX 3450+364 and 78 cars.

Q326 had picked up a car out of Grand Junction siding. May have been that bad order car from a few days ago. Went by the DD mp CG44.2 at approx. 11:20am with CSX engines #293 + #3420 & 80 cars.
