That new Coke train went NB past MP 22.5 at 2:30 am with three locomotives struggling to get it up the Hill.

Is this new coke train going to be daily on the Holly sub?

Don't know. It seems to be a couple times a week so far, loads west/north and empties east/south. Someone said it is all in the testing phase now and may not last but that was a month or so ago.

Train 515 had two locomotives this morning out of Pontiac, the usual 5435 SD60 and GTW GP38 4927 (blue) and a usual sized train. It just passed by heading back to Pontiac with 60 cars! No wonder two locomotives. The Geep sounding pretty good barking up the Hill in Notch 8. There were a number of brand new high-sided AIMX gondolas in the train, all empties, which I have never seen before, and a large cut of identical CSX 50 boxcars. It must have been a large pull from the Conrail interchange at East Yard in Detroit.

Train 371 just went NB with six locomotives (all working) and 118 cars, mostly autoracks, passing MP 22.5 at 4:33 pm.

A lot of those cars went south to East Yard yesterday on L533 from Port Huron. 533 runs a few times a week all the way to Detroit with a good sized train, which is then dispersed at East Yard. Don't know where they originate, but the make-up is sometimes odd, like single autoracks and old automotive hi-cubes - i.e. things you never usually see on the Mount Clemens local. Did see the gons and CSX boxes yesterday...
